I have conducted impactful research in three distinct fields: ethics, history of science, and modern evolutionary biology, focusing particularly on contemporary scientific controversy. My doctoral program at UC-Berkeley in the history of science is a field that explores the practice of science in its relationships with society, culture, and government. Since scientific developments take place both inside and outside the laboratory, both draw my attention and analysis. My dissertation research focused on the problem of species extinction, combined with studies of ecology and paleontology. Here in Washington DC, I have been working as a grant writer at the National Rehabilitation Hospital, and I am pursuing positions that enable me to better facilitate the public understanding of science
